امن کا نوبیل انعام حاصل کرنے والی دنیا کی کم عمر ترین شخصیت ملالہ یوسفزئی ساڑھے پانچ برس بعد اپنے آبائی علاقے سوات پہنچی ہیں جہاں انھوں نے اپنے گھر کا دورہ کیا۔ 20 سالہ ملالہ کو اکتوبر 2012 میں طالبان کے قاتلانہ حملے کے بعد علاج کے لیے انگلینڈ منتقل کیا گیا تھا اور وہ صحت یاب ہونے کے بعد حصولِ تعلیم کے لیے وہیں مقیم ہیں۔ نامہ نگار رفعت اللہ اورکزئی کے مطابق مینگورہ میں ملالہ یوسفزئی نے اپنی والدہ، والد اور دو بھائیوں کے ہمراہ اپنے گھر کا دورہ کیا اور وہاں کچھ وقت گزارا جس کے بعد وہ وہاں سے روانہ ہو گئیں۔ انھوں نے بتایا کہ اس کے بعد ملالہ یوسفزئی نے سوات میں ہی ایک کیڈٹ کالج کا بھی دورہ کیا جہاں ان کی چند سہلیوں کو بھی مدعو کیا گیا تھا۔ اطلاعات کے مطابق سوات میں سخت سکیورٹی انتظامات کیے گئے ہیں اور ملالہ یوسفزئی کے آبائی گھر کی جانب جانے والی تمام سڑکوں کو بند کر دیا گیا ہے۔ یاد رہے کہ ملالہ یوسفزئی چار روزہ دورے پر بدھ کی شب اسلام آباد پہنچی تھیں۔ پاکستان پہنچنے پر ان کا کہنا تھا کہ یہ ان کی زندگی میں سب سے زیادہ خوشی کا دن ہے کہ وہ اپنے وطن میں اپنی مٹی پہ کھڑی ہیں۔

سنہ 2018 کے لیے ایسے ہی نوجوان فنکاروں، سائنسدانوں اور تاجروں کی فہرست میں شامل نو پاکستانیوں میں پہلا نام سعدیہ بشیر کا ہے۔ سعدیہ بشیر فوربز کی فہرست میں شامل سعدیہ بشیر کے سر پاکستان میں ویڈیو گیمز انڈسٹری کی بنیادیں مضبوط کرنے کا سہرا ہے۔ سعدیہ پاکستان میں نوجوانوں کو ویڈیو گیم ڈیزائنگ کی تربیت دینا چاہتی ہیں۔ بی بی سی سے بات کرتے ہوئے ان کا کہنا تھا کہ وہ امریکہ کی سیلیکون ویلی میں ویڈیو گیمز کے ڈیزائنرز سے ملنے کے بعد اب وہ ان کے ساتھ مل کر پاکستان میں تربیتی پروگرامز منعقد کروانا چاہتی ہیں۔ سعدیہ بشیر پاکستان میں سالانہ گیمز کانفرنس کرواتی ہیں جس میں بین الاقوامی سپیکرز بھی سکائپ پر شامل ہوتے ہیں۔ وہ ہر سال سماجی معاملات سے متعلق شعور بیدار کرنے کے لیے گیمز کا مقابلہ بھی کرواتی ہیں۔ اسی طرح انھوں نے کینسر کے مریضوں کی جانب سے مرض کی شناخت، پانی میں آلودگی کا سبب بننے والی چیزوں سے متعلق آگہی اور امن کے پھیلاؤ اور اسے متاثر کرنے والے عناصر کی شناخت پر گیمز بنائی گئیں۔ وہ خواتین کے مسائل سے متعلق ایک گیم کے منصوبے پر کام کر رہی ہیں جس میں بحیثیت عورت یہ گیم کھیل کر ای

اقوام متحدہ کے سیکریٹری جنرل اینتونیو گتریز نے اسرائیلی سرحد کے قریب شیلنگ سے 16 فلسطینیوں کی ہلاکت کے واقعے کی آزادنہ تحقیقات کرانے کا کہا ہے۔ جمعے کو غزہ میں ہزاروں فلسطینیوں نے چھ ہفتے پر مشتمل احتجاج کے آغاز میں اسرائیلی سرحد کی طرف مارچ کیا جس کے نتیجے میں کم ازکم 16 افراد ہلاک اور سینکڑوں زخمی ہو گئے۔ دوسری جانب نیو یارک میں اقوام متحدہ کی سلامتی کونسل کے ارکان نے ایک ہنگامی اجلاس میں تشدد کی مزمت کی ہے۔ فلسطین کے صدر محمود عباس نے کونسل پر زور دیا ہے کہ وہ فلسطینی عوام کی حفاظ، کے لیے اقدامات میں مدد کریں۔

NEW YORK: A US judge on Wednesday rejected Saudi Arabia´s bid to dismiss lawsuits claiming that it helped plan the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and should pay billions of dollars in damages to victims. US District Judge George Daniels in Manhattan said the plaintiffs´ allegations "narrowly articulate a reasonable basis" for him to assert jurisdiction over Saudi Arabia under the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA), a 2016 federal law. Lawyers for Saudi Arabia did not immediately respond to requests for comment. The Saudi government has long denied involvement in the Sept. 11 attacks, in which hijacked airplanes crashed into New York´s World Trade Center, the Pentagon outside Washington, D. C. , and a Pennsylvania field. Nearly 3,000 people died. Daniels´ decision covers claims by the families of those killed, roughly 25,000 people who suffered injuries, and many businesses and insurers. ANKARA: At least 17 people have been killed and another 36 wounded after a bus carrying illegal immigrants hit a lighting pole in eastern Turkey and burst into flames, local media reported on Friday. The bus, which crashed late Thursday on the Igdir-Kars highway, was carrying nationals from Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported. Images in Turkish media showed smoke rising from the charred bus with its front smashed and migrants lying on the road with bloodied faces. "When we arrived at the scene we found a... migrant tragedy," Igdir province governor Enver Unlu told reporters at the scene. "We are deeply saddened that the frequent smuggling of migrants, which goes on in our province, has ended in a traffic accident." Health officials said some of the injured were in a serious condition. The bus had capacity for 14 people but over 50 people including women were on board, according to Anadolu. RIYADH: Traffic came to a crawl and people remained  in their homes as a sandstorm swept across the western region of Saudi Arabia on Thursday. As per Saudi media, sandstorms hit several cities in Saudi Arabia  and disrupted road and air transport across the Kingdom as the sandstorms had severely restricted visibility in various areas, including Jeddah, Makkah, as well as neighboring parts of the region. The early warning center of the national Saudi Meteorology and Protection of the Environment agency issued a nationwide warning stating that unstable weather will affect many areas Thursday and Friday. The agency said the capital Riyadh will also get its share of the sandstorm and it is expected to continue until midday on Friday. A teenager in Canada had bought a bottle of champagne and a scratch card as part of her subtle 18th birthday celebrations, which resulted in her winning $1,000 every week for a lifetime. Charlie Lagarde, hailing from Canadian province of Quebec had won the lottery on her 18th birthday on March 14th. She was given two options, of either receiving a collective amount of $1m or $1,000 on a weekly basis for the rest of her life. She had chosen the latter option since it was not taxed, after consulting a financial adviser. She celebrated the momentous occasion of receiving the prize with her family and friends at the Montreal head office of Loto-Quebec. Wajid Zia confirms Sharif family’s stance on Qatari prince: ISLAMABAD: As cross-examination of prosecution witness Wajid Zia continued on Thursday, defence counsel Khawaja Haris said the JIT put such a difficult conditions before Qatari Prince Hamad bin Jassim that he in his third letter replied that he was not subjected to the Pakistani law and won’t visit Pakistan. On the other hand, Wajid said Jassim, who endorsed the Sharif family’s stance, was ready to appear before the JIT but it declined his request to send him a questionnaire in advance. Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan are yet again in the news as they seem to secretly have met each other in London, reported Indian media. According to  NDTV , Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor was off to Bulgaria with his team for the shooting of his upcoming film Brahmastra when he stopped off at London. He then met Mahira Khan who was already in town for the promotion of her film Verna and was invited as guest on BBC programme HARDtalk. However, pictures of this meeting haven’t emerged as yet, in order to substantiate the claim. The two stars had occupied much of everyone’s screen space last year when a photo showcasing them smoking in New York together went viral. On Thursday, HHS Secretary Alex Azar announced the appointment of two individuals to lead initiatives in areas he has identified as priorities for the Department. Secretary Azar has previously identified four initiatives for his transformation agenda: combating the opioid crisis; bringing down the high cost of prescription drugs; addressing the cost and availability of health insurance; and transforming our healthcare system to a value-based system. The individuals who will be taking key roles on opioids and prescription drug pricing are:  Daniel M. Best will be Senior Advisor to the Secretary for Drug Pricing Reform. Mr. Best will lead the initiative to lower the high price of prescription drugs. Brett Giroir, M.D., will, in addition to his duties as Assistant Secretary for Health, serve as Senior Advisor to the Secretary for Mental Health and Opioid Policy.
