A Canadian Teen to receive 1000 Dollars weekly after winning lottery

A teenager in Canada had bought a bottle of champagne and a scratch card as part of her subtle 18th birthday celebrations, which resulted in her winning $1,000 every week for a lifetime.

Charlie Lagarde, hailing from Canadian province of Quebec had won the lottery on her 18th birthday on March 14th. She was given two options, of either receiving a collective amount of $1m or $1,000 on a weekly basis for the rest of her life.

She had chosen the latter option since it was not taxed, after consulting a financial adviser.

She celebrated the momentous occasion of receiving the prize with her family and friends at the Montreal head office of Loto-Quebec.

The 18 year old has announced that she will be utilizing her prize money for travel and to fund her education.

Talking to international media outlets she stated: "I want to study photography. One of my dreams would be to work for National Geographic."
