27th INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXHIBITION WITH FULL COLORS OF INTERNATIONAL CULTURES INAUGURATED AT IIUI

Islamabad ( By Asghar Ali Mubarak ) The 27th International Cultural Exhibition of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has inaugurated by H.E. Nawaf Saeed Ahmad Al-Malki, Ambassador of Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at IIUI Sector H-10 Campus of University. H.E. Yao Jing, Ambassador of China was the Guest of honor at this occasion. The ceremony was also attended by Ambassadors of Kenya, Thailand, Turkey, Afghanistan, Mauritius, Oman, Yamen, Egypt and Somalia. Academicians and administration heads of the University including large number of faculty members and students were also present during the ceremony.

Saudi Ambassador, speaking during the ceremony said that educational institutions are best platforms for building strong brotherly relations among nations. He added that students from more than fifty nations are availing facility of knowledge here at IIUI which has become an international platform for students across the globe. Al-Malki congratulated IIUI administration for holding this mega event every year.

Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador motivated Chinese Students during his speech and said that friendship is foundation for making relationships with global community. He advised Chinese Students to promote friendship with other international students for building strong relations for future purposes. He also emphasized Chinese students to promote Chinese Culture among other international students studying here at IIUI.

In a message, Rector IIUI said that the mega event will show the world the most beautiful example of cultural diversity and the event will promote message of peace and harmony among national and international students of IIUI.

Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousef Al Draiweesh, President, IIUI welcomed ambassadors in the mega event and congratulated organizers for organizing this event successful. He said that that it’s a matter of proud for him that IIUI is celebrating its 27th Cultural Week with full zeal and zest.

Addressing to the inaugural ceremony of event, Studetns’ Advisor, Dr. Tariq Javed briefed that IIUI celebrates Cultural week every year with the aim to keep our cultural values intact in the face of the global cultural invasions. He said that the objective of this celebration is to provide our students and community an opportunity to witness the diversity of the IIU World.  .

After inaugural ceremony, Ambassadors and guests visited stalls of various countries which were setup by the students of university. The stalls presented the culture of more than 40 international countries mainly, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Malaysia, Afghanistan, Egypt, Somali, Thailand, Indonesia and other countries. The national stalls representing Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, South Punjab, KPK, Sindh, and Balochistan are also part of this cultural exhibition. Every stall represented heritage of that area in which students displayed dresses, paintings, music and foods depicting their cultural colors.
